Lynda Nutting Quinn was born in Skowhegan Maine, graduated from Skowhegan High School and Farmington State College which is now known as the University of Maine at Farmington (UMF). Lynda married Tommy Quinn in 1968, they have three daughters and four granddaughters: Alicia Powers with daughter, Janet Lynn; Vanessa York with husband Gary York and daughter, Emma Lee; and Jessica Quinn with daughters, Lillian Grace and Alissa Jean. Lynda and the girls attend Solon Congregational Church. EDUCATION / WORK HISTORY: Lynda taught First Grade at North Elementary
School for 17 years, owned and operated Lynda Quinn Studio/Portrait
Photography for 6 years from 1985 to 1991, taught at the Skowhegan
Area High School in Special Education as a Functional Life Skills
teacher and was also the Department Head for the Special Education
Department. Upon retiring from teaching, Lynda entered into the
family business, Quinn Hardware, located in Skowhegan, Maine as a
"gofer" and also holds the position of manager at the Lakewood Inn
Restaurant. Lynda was Selectman for the Town of Skowhegan for
21 years and served as its Chairman for 9 years. Lynda has
always been active in local politics and local organizations such as
Eastern Star, DAR, Semper Fidelis, Skowhegan Chamber of Commerce,
Cornville Players, Curtain Up Enterprises, and the Skowhegan
Planning Board. She also served as the Somerset County Coordinator
for Maine Street 90 under Governor McKernon in 1989/1990. |
